What We Believe
Who is God?
We believe that through 66 books the Bible and His acts throughout History, God has revealed Himself to eternally exists as One Triune Being. That is, one God, three Persons; Father, Son, and Spirit. While God’s single, Triune being is beyond our comprehension, it is essential for us to understand in order to worship and live fully.
God’s deepest pleasure is in Himself. And since God is a triune Being, this is not self-absorbed and narcissistic – it’s inherently outward focused. The human race exists because of the Father’s generous desire to share His delight in the Son by the Spirit! Life itself is about sharing the greatest joy possible with the greatest One possible – Father, Son, and Spirit.
The fullness of God is displayed in the Person of Jesus Christ.
What is the Gospel?
The gospel is the key that unlocks our understanding of the Scriptures, of our hearts, and of God’s work in the world. It is through receiving the gospel that we are saved and through applying the gospel that we are sanctified. The gospel is the good news that Jesus – God with skin on – lived a perfect life, died a brutal death, and rose victorious from the grave, all in fulfilment of the Scriptures.
Through receiving Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross in our place, we are not only declared innocent in God’s courtroom, we are welcomed into God’s living room. We are redeemed and renewed to live as God’s family on God’s mission to glorify God’s Name to the ends to the earth.
